Yes - we deal with pet insurance, it all depends on your policy cover as to what you can claim. We are unable to accept direct insurance claims currently but we are happy to fill out and send off any insurance forms for you (fees may apply).
Agreed Terms & Conditions for using My Home Pet Vet Ltd's Service
Payment is due in full at the time of your pet's treatment. We are unable to offer credit or payment plans. My Home Pet Vet may request to be paid in advance of providing services or products.
Out of hours communication is only monitored via the specified route. This is through calling the designated on call telephone number (Please note that this telephone number is not the same every day) provided on the Out of Hours Answer phone message (provided when calling our normal number 01905 905990) and leaving a Voicemail with specified details on the designated telephone number. All other forms of communication are not monitored out of hours.
My Home Pet Vet provides out of hours care for their registered patients. As a mobile provider of veterinary services we may be limited to providing first aid and pain relief out of hours. We will happily work with your local registered "bricks and mortar" veterinary practice out of hours if your pets condition cannot be stabilised in the home environment.
My Home Pet Vet charges an out of hours call out fee. We may request payment of this fee prior to attending out of hours visits. All other charges out of hours are made in addition to the call out according to our normal in-hours fees.
The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons guidelines states for practice standards and the professional conduct of veterinary surgeons: “Veterinary surgeons have professional responsibilities relating to the provision of 24-hour emergency cover (i.e. the provision of emergency first aid and pain relief). These responsibilities should be considered in conjunction with the owner’s responsibilities under current animal welfare legislation, to ensure the health and welfare of their animal.”
We are able to provide written prescriptions. My Home Pet Vet will charge a written prescription fee for each medication item. This is to cover the time taken to review medical records and provide the necessary documentation. Length of time/ amounts for written prescriptions is dependent on numerous factors relating to the type of medication and patients condition. The length of time / amounts is at the discretion of the veterinary surgeon and this can be discussed at the time of providing the written prescription.
Safety is one of our top priorities when visiting pets in their home environment. If you have concerns that your pet may be challenging for us to handle, has shown aggression to strangers in the home, or you have other behavioural concerns please get in touch beforehand to discuss our best approach to the visit. If a visit becomes unsafe in the opinion of the attending Veterinary Surgeon, My Home Pet Vet reserves the right to refuse examination of your pet. In this very rare instance, please be aware that the visit and consultation will still be charged.
Unfortunately we are unable to accept returns of most products and medications due to their specific storage requirements.
Unfortunately whilst we will always try our best for you and your pet, sometimes things may not go according to plan. Oftentimes there has been a misunderstanding or confusion has arisen due to issues with communication. If you have a complaint please email F.A.O. The Director - My Home Pet Vet to myhomepetvetinfo@gmail.com, outlining the details of your complaint. We will investigate your complaint and get back to you within 14days.
